Testimonials
"Working with Guy throughout my Master of Arts Photography, particularly during the development of my public outcome, Connection series, was instrumental in shaping both my creative practice and the photographer I am today.
Guy challenged me to look beyond the obvious, question my decisions and explore ideas I might otherwise have dismissed. He encouraged me to think more deeply about my work, not simply what I was photographing, but why it mattered, what I wanted to communicate and how I could create something that would genuinely resonate with an audience.
My Connection series began as an exploration of my relationship with the landscape but evolved into something far more ambitious, combining still photography, moving imagery and immersive experiences. Throughout that journey, Guy encouraged me to push beyond conventional photographic boundaries, challenge my assumptions and, most importantly, trust my own creative instincts.
What sets Guy apart as a mentor is his ability to recognise potential you may not yet see in yourself. He doesn't hand you the answers or expect you to follow his creative vision. Instead, he asks the questions that make you stop, reconsider and discover possibilities you hadn't imagined. His feedback is honest, insightful and, at times, challenging, but always delivered with a genuine desire to see you grow.
Mentoring with Guy is about far more than becoming a better photographer. It's about developing the confidence to take creative risks, think critically, find your own voice and create work with greater purpose and intention.
Looking back, I can see how much his guidance influenced not only the direction of my Connection series but also my confidence to pursue ideas that once felt beyond my reach.
For anyone considering mentoring with Guy, be prepared to be challenged, encouraged and inspired to think differently. You won't simply walk away with improved photographs. You'll gain a deeper understanding of yourself as a creative and a renewed confidence in what you're capable of achieving.
Guy didn't teach me to see the world through his eyes. He challenged me to discover what I wanted to say through my own."

"I have been working with Guy for 12 weeks in his Review 1 online zoom class and he has transformed my photography approach and given me the confidence to put my work up for public critique by entering competitions. Guy has created a relaxed, creatively interesting and supportive space for me that allowed me to ask questions and also learn from my mistakes. I now take more considered and deliberate photos and have developed a more critical eye. If you want to push your photography to greater levels in a supportive and creative space I strongly suggest being mentored by Guy."

"I have benefitted enormously from taking part in Guy's Review zoom classes over the last months. My approach to photography has evolved and my skills have improved enormously in a very short period under his guidance. Guy is supportive and encouraging in his approach to teaching while at the same time providing constructive advice, feedback and suggestions for improvement. I would highly recommend Guy as a mentor if you want to take your photography to the next level."

“ I really enjoy Guy’s Review Zoom photography Review classes and the opportunity to review our images together as a group. I particularly value the thoughtful honest feedback, the deeper discussion around each photo, and the little pieces of teaching that naturally come through, including little post production ways to strengthen an image. Looking at both my own work and the work of others has helped me see photography differently and has encouraged me to keep developing and pushing my own work further. Guy creates a supportive and inspiring environment to learn in, and I always take something valuable away from each class”
