Affordable Art Fair Melbourne preparation July 2026

Sooooo disapointing England lost to Argentina in the World Cup, oh well let's hope they can beat France and get 3rd. I'll just have to wait another 60 years. Benching Rashford was a bad mistake.

I've been very busy printing away on my Epson getting ready for the Affordable Art Fair in Melbourne in August at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. Very grateful with all this sport going on as I can have the TDF and World Cup going on while printing my work. So far I've done 130 prints ranging from A4, A3+ and A2 sizes. A lot of signing to do. It's hard to know what will sell and what won't dealing with the public so I'm putting in literal, figerative and drawing.

Been getting my framing and prep work presentation done with Fantastic Framing in St Kilda, and a big shout out to them for all the good work so far. A great team. Interestingly as much of my printing is on A3+ but the plastic sleeves are only A3 so I have to allow for this in the file preparation and trim the final print which can slow things down a bit.

Fortunately I have a point driver so I can reframe and this can make a lot of difference framing and reframing my images up. Interestingly using the Hahnemuhle Signing Pen Due, and yes way too expensive for what it is, but that said it is very good particularly the graphite pencil, I've signed and labelled 150 prints so far and it doesnt seem to wear down at all. It works well on the matt papers but I tried it on Canson Platine and it didn't hold. And so that's when you use the Black fineliner.

I've found the Cello King very good for purchasing plastic sleeves from for my un mounted prints from. Even found sleeves for A3+. I ordered them by the pack of 100.

Working out framing on my surfing series at Fantastic Framing, going double matt, but it needs to have psychological breathing space. Got the surfing frames back and excellent news as Fantastic Framing in St Kilda got them done under my deadline so very happy about that and the great result. Nearly all ready for the art fair.
